I've got an interesting plrobem, our biological children have place names, our son is Indiana (yes after Indiana Jones). After Indy we wanted to stick with an exotic sounding place name that would belong to an adventuress, so we picked Sedona for our daughter. Now we want our daughter from China to have a similar kind of name, but what? How to do that and balance it with respect for her birth country (without naming her China or Asia as some well meaning people have suggested.)? I do really like Zahara, and it is a place name, (Zahara de los Atunes, in Andalucia, Spain). I'm leaning that way, but I also worry it will become too popular, naming is so hard sometimes.
